Window Cleaning FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

Why are we using this new system of window cleaning?

A: Window cleaning is inherently dangerous and there are up to 7 deaths per year and many more serious injuries due to falls from ladders. Because of this the working at height regulations by the HSE have recommended that window cleaners adopt safer working practices that can become the industry standard. This industry standard is fast becoming  the Water Fed Pole (WFP) reach and wash systems. All of the leading window cleaning companies within the UK are now using WFP.

Will this new system clean my windows as good as the old method?

A: Yes. Water fed pole window cleaning is better than conventional methods. It will not leave runs on your glass, squeegee marks, smears or dirty window sills, producing a better cleaning result. We clean the full window not just the glass!

Why are my windows left wet?

A: When you are having your windows cleaned with the WFP it use’s laboratory grade H2O, so when the windows and frames have been scrubbed, washed and rinsed, no residue or dirt is left and the pure water dries to a natural totally clear finish.

What difference will I notice having my windows cleaned with H2O pure water?

A: There is a bedding in period, because the jets of pure water used on the windows and frames are cleaned right into every corner. As a result of this, the first 2-3 cleans you may notice a small amount of residue remaining. This runs from the dirty frames and we please ask you to be patient as this is unfortunately unavoidable. Once the frames are cleaned 2-3 times and the bedding period passed the new method will actually clean to a better standard than before.

Will the water damage my property?

A: No, we use far less water on each window than what a rain shower will produce and we have more of our fair share of these in Wiltshire. We have a product called aqua-dapter fitted to our poles, this enables us to turn on/off the water between windows which helps minimise the amount of water required to clean a window.

Can you clean the window above my conservatory?

A: Yes we can clean all windows above conservatories and your velux roof windows. We can also clean over obstacles such as pitched roofs.

Are you reliable?

A: Yes we are reliable. We will always clean your windows at the agreed frequency, except in extremely bad weather conditions.

Will you call at the same time?

A: Yes we endeavour to call at the same time, depending on the variations in the weather conditions. What we can promise is that you will have a very regular and professional window cleaning service all year round.

Do you do one off cleans?

A: Yes we do one off cleans for commercial properties. We also do one off cleans for domestic customers, however please be aware that one off cleans will be more expensive than having a regular window cleaning service as they take longer to clean.

We do not want our windows cleaned this time around?

A: If we come to clean your windows and you say ‘Not this time’ you will be charged, unless we have been given 24 hours prior notice.

How much will it cost to clean my windows?

A: The only way to give an accurate price for cleaning your windows would be to visit your property. All quotations are free of charge

What hours do you work?

A: We work Monday – Friday 8AM – 4PM. Also Saturday Mornings.

Do I need to be in when my windows are cleaned?

A: No. You do not need to be at home, however we do need to have access to the rear of your property. We will put a note through your door to tell you your windows were cleaned today.

How do I pay for your service?

A: There are a number of ways you can pay, If you click on the page ‘How To Pay’ on the menu at the top of the page, this will give you a number of options to choose from on how to pay for the service you have received.

Do you still clean windows in the rain?

A: Yes. Windows need cleaning because they get dirty not because they get wet. When chimneys were belching smoke it probably was true that by the time the rain drops reached the ground they were full of dirt and smoke particles. With the Clean Air Act that situation has changed. Nowadays the three major causes of dirty windows are dust and pollen blown about from wind and bird/insect droppings. If these are present on the window glass when it rains, the residue in the rain attaches itself to the dirt and can often make the windows look worse. When the windows are clean the rain will simply run off and the glass continues to remain clean. We also believe providing a consistent regular service is important to our customers.

Do you offer a guarantee?

A: Yes. If within 24 hours you are not happy with the results of our window cleaning, do not hesitate in giving us a call and we will come back and re-clean free of charge.
